Our People

Bro. Carl Olson

As our current Worshipfull Master, Carl is a highly experienced Freemason and long standing public servant. A past District Grand Superintendent, Carl is a past Master of Lodge Concordia with involvement in many other lodges in this jurisdiction.

"Lodge Concordia is a unique lodge in this jurisdiction and our ceremonies, developed on the European Continent, bring great vibrancy to South Australian Freemasonry. Having served within Grand Lodge I understand the importance of strategic leadership of our governing body and the importance of all subordinate lodges working together for a combined application of our fraternities mission. This is an exciting time to be a Freemason and our lodge is at the very spearhead of supporting the overarching strategy of our Grand Lodge."

Bro. Manfred Kahmann

Manfred is the immediate past Master of the Lodge and has served as Master on two occasions. Having served as past Grand Steward, Manfred has also lectured on Freemasonry and has visited almost every lodge in the jurisdiction.

"I am very proud of my German heritage, Lodge Concordia whilst accepting members from all cultural backgrounds, has a terrific German pedigree which I enjoy and which brings me back to my cultural roots. We run a yearly Oktoberfest and enjoy unique German traditions such as our ancient toasts, called 'firing', which require special drinking glasses. This year one of our brethren introduced us to lederhosen and traditional dancing at our Installation which was extraudinarily popular. There is only one Lodge Concordia and we are very proud to retain the vision of our founding fathers."

Bro. Tim Newall

Tim is the Senior Warden of Lodge Concordia, recently joining the lodge following a distibguished Masonic career within Thorngate Lodge and the Perfect Cube Lodge of this Jurisdiction. A manager of an iconic Australian franchise, Tim regulalry assists in various positions in the lodge and mentors less experienced Freemasons.

" Trust and loyalty are important values to me. I have found that Freemasonry attracts a certain type of person who is generally tolerant, open minded and who contributes back to society. We are more than mates here, we have a deeper connection through the principles of our Order and that keeps me coming back."

Bro. Silvano Orlando

Silvano is a Lodge Concordia vetran of many years having been installed as Master on three occasions. Originally from Italy, Silvano was a mechanical fitter first initiated into Freemasonry in 1988. As is typical of senior brethren of such vast experience, Silvano is often called upon to execute varying roles of office at short notice, a talent he undertakes without a second thought.

"Freemasonry is a point of union, as any person of any religion or side of politics can thrive in peace and harmony in a Freemasons Lodge. I have always felt that in our fraternity I can contribute to the bigger picture, there is nothing like it."

Bro. Henning A. Klovekorn

Henning is current Secretary of Lodge Concordia with many years of International Masonic service behind him. He is a best selling author on Freemasonry, past initiator of the Freemasons Youth Forum and has published articles on Freemasonry such as in the magazine of the United Grand Lodge of Victoria. Our Grand Lodge Museum hosts a collection of Masonic artefacts bearing his name. An entrepreneur, Henning has been on the cover of the Advertiser Business Journal on three occasions.

" Travelling opened my eyes to the truly global presence of Freemasonry and its significance. I have had the honour of holding Brother George Washington's Masonic Sword, with which he proclaimed the Republic, have observed Masonic symbolism on Templar graves in Scotland and sat in Lodges from an old Colonial Lodge in Chennai India to a 400 year old lodge in Chalon sur Sonne, France; the breadth of Freemasonry is inspiring" states Henning. "Now back in Adelaide, I can mentor new younger Freemasons whilst all the while still learning from great mentors such as Bro. Schwarz-Docen, who proposed me 20 years ago. Freemasonry is all about self-development and Freemasons support one another to no end in that process of transformation."
